It is more fun in Bicol! Be cool!

 Welcome to Penafrancia Basilica!

After our nine hours trip by car or should I say van to be specific, we finally arrived here at Penafrancia Basilica!
It is located at Naga City which is also known as the "Piligrim City" and "Queen City of Bicol".

We stayed here for four days.
They  consider their resort as “The Most Refreshing Haven in Caramoan”.

The resort is located in the heart of Caramoan. Shopping streets, dining areas, and the century old St. Michael Church are just few meters away from our resort.

What we loved most about this resort was that, it personifies the refined sophistication of modern mixed with native designed villas. During our stay, each room was clean and well-maintained. The toilet had hot and cold shower, air conditioner was working quite well. However, their Cable TV was not functioning well that time(or perhaps just in our room?).

There is an open dining area in this resort with mini refreshment bar that offers affordable meals. There’s also a swimming pool, fitness gym, and bar exclusively for guests.

Uhm...mmm...Hey guys, wake up! Okay, so we were so tired (pretending?)...

Island Hopping!

We are about to ride on a tricycle going to the seashore. We will be riding on a boat there for our island hopping activity.

After 15 to 20 minutes, we're here!

Sexy ladies! Haha!

How I love staying at the beach. I appreciate this kind of scenery so much. Amazing place!

Look at the sand!

BeCOOL, Albay!

Oh clouds, why were you so mean? We couldn't see the peak of Mount Mayon. Why were you hiding it? Sad.

Sili (Chilli in English)  ice cream! I really enjoyed this ice cream so much! If only I could take home some of these... hmm... it tasted really great!

Tired but happy!

Soul sisters!

Wake boarding!

Lots of souvenirs to choose from!

I wanna go back here again!
Certainly a great place to visit!

"This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!"

We went to the place where bats live! Around 7 in the morning, we were already inside the car when suddenly an earthquake happened! According to the news, the magnitude was about 5.6. But nothing can stop us to visit Samal Island!

Accodrding to Davao Life is Here's blog,  "Monfort Bat Cave is the world’s largest colony of Geoffroy’s Rousette Fruit Bats (Rousettus Amplexicaudatus) with an estimated 1.8 million bats living in the five remaining caves of Samal Island, to a density of 645 bats per square meter. This distinction was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest colony of Geoffrey’s Rousette Fruit Bat in the world. The colony is situated in a 23 hectare protected area of the Monfort Eco-Park at Barangay Tambo, Babak District, Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte, on a property owned by Norma Monfort."

Myle, Ate Cindy,  and I were already inside the car when the earthquake occurred.

The car and us rode on this ship as we cross the sea between Davao City  and Samal Island.

So, we were enjoying the view.

After 15 minutes or so, we were already in Samal Island! So fast! Haha!

According to our guide inside the bat colony, bats were grouped according to their personalities slash characteristics slash age.

Bats here were so quiet because these group of bats was composed of the elders.

This group is composed of male bats.

This is the training ground for young bats as they learn how to fly.

With our guide inside the bat colony. She is Ate Analyn (hope I am right).

Try to visit this when you come to Samal Island. It is just 15 minutes away from the port.
You can learn many interesting facts about bats and discover how amazing they are!
