Hello Macau!

Macau!
From Shenzhen, we headed our way to Macau via Ferry which took us about an hour or so.
Macau is known to be as Asia's Gambling Mecca. Why? There are lots of casinos established in the country! Also, it is a nice place to see the traditional Chinese culture while enjoying the exotic Portuguese buildings. Most of the buildings have Portuguese names or translations. When I was here, I felt like I was in Portugal too (well, I never been there yet so I really don't know the feeling of being there).

The name of the city is derived from the word Magao (A-Ma Temple), which was the shrine dedicated to Mazu, a sacred sea goddess respected by the local people. It was said that in the middle of sixteenth century when the Portuguese first set foot there, one of the officers asked a fisherman the name of the land. The man misunderstanding the officer's meaning, answered 'Magao' - the name of A-Ma Temple in front them. Read more here: Macau Travel Guide

According to our tour guide, most of these places were just part of the sea before. Wow! The government was able to improve it this way? Amazing!

These are what I am talking about. The buildings here are just amazing!

The Grand Lisboa Hotel is owned by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (SJM) and designed by renowned Hong Kong architects Dennis Lau and Ng Chun Man. An impressive and iconic skyscraper, the 58-floor hotel is 260 metres tall. Read more here: Grand Lisboa

Yes, hi Macau tower!
The Tower is 338m high at its highest point. Wooh! Also, the main observation level is 223m above the ground. Imagine, you can see 55km away from the highest viewing deck!

My travel buddy: Ate Cindy

FOOD!

Oh yeah, we've been missing rice and other Filipino dishes so there, we went to an Indian Restaurant which also serves Filipino food. The best part was that, a Filipino waitress served us so we felt like we were just in the Philippines. I am so happy to see my fellow Filipinos here! We saw one in the Macau Ferry Terminal too. He was assisting us because we were not able to find out tour guide immediately. Oh, Filipinos are really helpful! :D

After eating, of course we have to burn some calories and so we started to walk and walk and walk again. Until we (me and my travel buddy ate Cyn) figured out that we were already out of the group. "Oh my where are they?" I asked ate Cyn. She was also worried. Well, we can still see our bus so we believe that they are just somewhere around and so we started to walk and walk and walk and whoala! We found them! Yey!

Oh, the man in my right might be thinking, "This woman is crazy!" Haha! I was just so happy sir.

Nice Sky view... :)

We were enjoying the beauty of the Venetian Hotel.

It is always nice to have great travel buddies!

Oooooppps! Failed Jump Shot? Na ah. 'Coz we were so happy here!

We met a very lovely newly wed couple and they were in Macau for their honeymoon! How sweet! :)

I love everything about Macau! We only had a day trip here and we didn't have the chance to stay for a night here. They say that it is better to go around Macau at night for us to witness the marvelous light effects of the buildings in the city. So that is our next goal when we'll have another chance to come back here.

Oh how I wish I could travel all the time.
